Friendly: Iran basketball beat Qatar for second time
TEHRAN – Iran national basketball team defeated Qatar once again in a friendly match Sunday night.
Iran national basketball team, who defeated Qatar 75-64 in a friendly match in Doha on Friday, emerged victorious against the team once again 80-64.
These two matches were held as part of preparation for the FIBA World Cup qualifier's fifth and penultimate window.
Iran take on Australia on Nov. 30 in Melbourne then the Philippines on Dec. 3 in Pasay.
Team Melli currently are second in Group F with a 6-2 record, behind Australia (7-1) and above the Philippines (5-3).
Also in the same group are Japan, Kazakhstan and Qatar.
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification (Asia) process will determine the seven teams from FIBA Asia and/or FIBA Oceania that will participate at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.
